I found an interesting article that helps companies and users start-up their social media sites. It maps out steps and a plan for using the sites to the best of your ability. It gives three steps you must follow in order to be successful.
Step 1: Set up your own media outlet
In the first step wants you to create a web base place to publish your thoughts for others to see. It must be easily visible for individuals to access. This includes blogging sites such as the one we are using now.
Step 2: Create Social Identities
Social Identity sites are things such as LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook. These need to be used to for brand recognition. Allow others to be aware of brands and what they stand for. It is very important to stay consistent with these sites so that users don't become confuse or stray.
Step 3: Create a Proactive Editorial Plan
This is where you create a strategy for users to visit your web based sites and be aware of what you offer. This is where you want to become viral so that people are talking about your brand. Your company will want to create advertisements, videos, how to's and other attention grabbers.
Following these three simple steps can help you and your company skims the surface of social media. Once you become familiar with the sites, the easier it will come. Staying involved with social media is something that will reward companies in the long run. Those who refuse to use it will be left in the dust.

Cool post. I really think one of the keys to being successful in social media marketing is the third point. You have to keep up with all of your sites!! If you are not constantly updating or posting then you can not expect your followers, fans, etc. to be intereted in you. Stay engaging. If you do it right then your efforts just might go viral and be a huge success for your business
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rob. You have to keep all of your sites up to date. Also, an important part of social media is constant creativity. You have to continue to create unique attention grabbers to gain the loyalty of your followers once you have gotten their attention. This can be a challenge, but like Kasey said, once you become familiar with the sites then the easier it will be and the more options you will have. Also, once you have established your social identity then your creativity will have a pattern and outline to follow.
ReplyDeleteThose three steps are key in starting up social media for a business!! I agree with you Brittany being creative is definitely key in grabbing consumers attention. Coming up with new ways to get viewers involved will keep followers! Great posts!
ReplyDeleteI defiantly agree with the Rob in thinking that the third step is very important. So many businesses create these sites on these networks and don't keep up with them. The point of these sites is to stay fresh in consumers minds and that means consistently posting and being active. Also, it could be discouraging for consumers if they visit sites that aren't updated very often. I can understand how it can be overwhelming at first, but I feel like this is something you learn as you go and would get better with in due time.
